Today we bought a house and we’ll be moving in 42 days!
Our new (old) house is in a really nice, leafy street in Daceyville and there’s lot’s of really big parks just down the end of the road. I’m going to miss our flat in Maroubra because we can see the ocean from our balcony, but the wood on the balcony is full of white ants and I probably would have fallen through it at some point so I suppose it’s best we move before anything like that happens.
I know Mum is really happy because she’s been driving us past the house every day for the last two weeks. I think she would have been pretty disappointed If we’d missed out.
It was also my first time at an auction, and If I’d known what an auction was beforehand, I would have told Mum not to worry because all you have to do at an auction is make sure you can count higher than anybody else there. Now my Dad is really good at counting because we count together sometimes and he can count really, really high. But I’ve never heard him count as high as he did today. I didn’t even know numbers went that high!
Anyway, our house has three bedrooms so now I can have two bedrooms all to myself. There’s also a good back yard for playing and a shed that I can use as a cubby house.
The inside of the house has paper on the walls. I think It will be fun to peel it off and draw on it. Also, there’s carpet that is already stained, so If I spill something Mum and Dad will never know
But my luck might be short lived because Mum and Dad want to get rid of the carpet and wallpaper so they can tell If I’m being messy. Mum also wants a new kitchen because she says she can’t cook my yummy dinners in this one.
I hope she finds one she likes. All I care about is that we still have a bath - although it could do with a bit of a scrub! I don’t know what I’d do if I couldn’t have my nightly splash.
Maybe Mum and Dad can put in a pool - there’s enough room now
To celebrate, Mum, Dad and I went to Thairiffic at The Spot in Randwick. This is our favourite Thai restaurant. Their satay chicken noodles go really well with a bottle of Moet.
