Happy birthday to me
Today, at exactly 8:16 am, I turned one year old. Dad and I sat and watched the clock and got this photo only minutes after the event.
Mum had been making birthday preparations for my big first birthday party for weeks. We had heaps of food and drinks and balloons and a lot of people coming. I woke early with a high temperature. I was so sick but it was my birthday and the party must go on.
The party started at 12 Noon, and to make it easy for everyone to find us, we tied ballons all along the side passage leading to the back yard.
The kids loved the broken trampoline and it was a real struggle to get time on it. Even the adults looked like they were having a good time - mingling, engaging in intelligent conversation, giving the “thumbs-up” - and they didn’t have a turn on the trampoline at all!
Before long it was present time, so we all moved from the back yard into the living room and spilled out onto the balcony as it got a little bit crowded.
I got a whole lot of awesome presents. One of them was a cool rocking horse from Godmother Linda.
Things started getting pretty hectic with all the kids going crazy over my presents, so I thought I’d try and hide out in my tunnel, but Dad found me pretty quick.
Opening presents is hungry work, so out came the cake - a perfect copy of my favourite - Elmo. I couldn’t resist the white chocolate ganache icing.
