First Flight

Today I went on my first ever flight - Virgin Blue Airlines flight DJ261 from Sydney to Brisbane.

The reason we were going to Brisbane for the weekend was for my appointment to get “the snip”. After Mum, Dad, Linda and I had checked in, Dad and I watched our Boeing 737 arrive from its previous flight to get ready to take us to Brisbane.

At 6:00pm, we were ready to board and Dad carried me accross the tarmac, up the portable stairs and onto our aeroplane.

We were greeted by the Virgin “hosties” who thought I was very cute. I knew then I had to be careful; One minute they’d be giving me a nappy change in the toilet, next week they’d be doing a tell-all exposé on 60 Minutes.

I didn’t get a seat, but I did get my own seatbelt and I sat on Dad’s lap for the flight which was over before I knew it.
