Today was Dad’s first birthday with me. Dad turned 36 today, which I think is ancient, and he probably should be in a nursing home.
I wanted to get Dad something special that he could keep for a long time (not that he has all that long left as far as I can tell), and I’ve been watching him make a special kind of ice-tea that makes him really happy, so I had Mum take me to the shops to get Dad a fancy cocktail Shaker on which I had this special message engraved:

Now all his teas can be shaken – not stirred 
Mum and I picked Dad up from work at about 5:30 PM and when we got home we had a chocolate mud cake waiting with some birthday candles and our presents for Dad (Mum got Dad his favourite movie on DVD – Blade Runner – The Director’s Cut). Mum lit the candles and I helped Dad blow them out.
After that I helped Dad unwrap his presents before he gave me a bath, after which it was time to go to bed so Mum could break out the Veuve and cook Dad a special Birthday dinner, which will, no doubt, be delicious.
