Tonight, Mum, Dad, Linda and I headed down to Coogee Beach to meet up with Dad’s friend Ingrid et. al. to partake in some yuletide joy. Mum and Dad were really sick, but they’d promised to take me and didn’t want to let down Dad’s friends (some of whom he hadn’t seen since his ten year High School reunion back in 1998).
Mum, Dad and Linda spent the day cooking up a storm; corn and capsicum tarts, two-mushroom frittatas, olive oil pan-fried Turkish bread and guacamole dip – with the pièce de résistance being the raspberry, white chocolate and macadamia blondies for dessert – and there was plenty to go around!
We arrived at about 5:50 PM – the show started at 6:00 PM. Dad left a message on Ingrid’s mobile so we could meet up and get started on all the yummy food whilst Ingrid met me for the first time and could sow that big kiss she’d been threatening to plant on me.
After looking around for a while, we eventually settled down on the grass and got stuck into the goodies. Dad and I watched the waves for a while before he received a text message from Ingrid saying they were near the left-hand-side of the stage.
Dad and I then went for a walk to where his friends were, but there were so many people we couldn’t find them anywhere 
I was really looking forward to meeting Dad’s friends – especially Ingrid who had a present for me. But it’s ok, because Dad has spoken to Ingrid and we’re going for a BBQ at her house in the new year, so I can pick up my present (and my kiss) then
